Memorial Union Clock

Grand Prismatic

Giving the University of Missouri a community center, Memorial Union was built between 1923 and 1963. With its Gothic tower in the center, this was built as a memorial to the University's lost soldiers in World War I. Inside the tower's arch way are the names of the 117 MU men who lost their lives in the war. This clock, whose mechanisms are based on those of Big Ben in London, hangs over the arch way. On it is inscribed "IN SAPIENTIA AMBULATE TEMPUS REDIMENTES" which means "Walk in Wisdom, Redeeming the Time.”
