Grand Prismatic

Throughout the Rocky Mountains, there are many roaring wallerfalls rushing millions of gallons of water every day. They can be a most glorious side with their sheer drops and their awesome power. But not always. At the base of this waterfall in the Rocky Mountain National Park lies one of these magnificent falls. It is known as the Aluvial Fan. One of my favorite shots is nothing grandioso. It doesn't capture the raw power and roar of the decending water. Instead, it is a small trickle off to the side at the very base of the falls. It is where the water has reached the end of its drop and is slowing its pace. This is more a scene of peace; tranquility; meditation. No matter how rough it gets, it will always get calmer.
