Heavenly Silhouette

Located in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri is Our Lady of Sorrows Church. This particular view came as a bit of a surprise for me. I had actually gone to the Liberty Memorial World War I Museum to take some photos of it as the sun came above the horizon. The day was starting to light up and I was looking for just the right angle. I looked to the east to see if I could see the sun yet and to my surprise it was coming up behind the church. I was in awe as I saw the silhouette on the horizon and knew I had found my favorite shot of the day. It just goes to show no matter how focused you can be on a goal, always expect surprises. Look around you at all times and enjoy the journey.
