Travelling the the great state of Colorado, we came across this scene of nature. Directly in front of us was the basin of a once mighty river. Over the years, the water diminished and the land had grown thick in underbrush. The trees have come down the mountainside and have started to grown on the valley floor. On the right a small stream now takes the place of the mighty river. Back beyond the trees stands a tall mountain of solid rock. On it, no trees can grow, any soil there has long washed away. It is a land of stark contrasts.
