Jackson Lake

Grand Prismatic

Welcome to the Grand Teton National Park. The centerpiece is this 40-mile long range with Jackson Lake in the foreground. This beautiful land has been home to people for more than 11,000 years with abundant wildlife and water. In the early 1800s it was frequented by fur trappers and it is widely believed that one of these fur trappers gave the highest peak "Grand Teton" its name. In 1929, President Calvin Coolidge signed the executive order adding this area to the National Park family.
