Reminders

Grand Prismatic

There are oftentimes great events that change the face of nature. Several years back a large first swept through this lowland area of Yellowstone National Park. This fire chased out the wild animals and decimated the trees and grasses. When it was done, nothing was left alive. As soon as the fire had burned out, however, life started to return. The grasses started to grow, some young saplings emerged from the ground, and the animals came back little by little. As we hiked past Fairy Falls we entered this field and saw the reminders of lives that were lost. The large dead trees were still standing but weathering away. We also saw the lush thick grasses and flowers popping up as this land was on the road to recovery.
