Trading Cards My elongated coin trading cards are hand created one at a time. Each one has a penny embedded into the front of the card. They measure 2 1/2" tall by 3 1/2" wide, the same size as a standard baseball card. Each card comes in a standard size poly bag within a rigid toploader as shown for safe, protective storage. The cards shown on the bottom of each photo are the back of the cards. The final cards are approximately the same thickness as a standard trading card. Warbirds: Aircraft of World War II The Warbirds: Aircraft of World War II series was created to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the United States's involvement in World War II. The cards were created with the same flavor of vintage 1941 baseball cards. With some help, I acquired a wonderful card stock that mimmicks the backs of these vintage cards. The front of the designs are printed in color on white stock (with a little artificial aging) and the backs are printed on the vintage-look card stock in black ink. The fronts feature an illustration of the airplane portrayed on the coin along with some information about the plane. The back of each of the cards has the planes' technical data, a side and top view schematic, and a list of the the countries that flew the planes. The header card tells a litle bit of the history of World War II, and how the United States was officially brought into the war. These are the first four coins the series and will contain several more in the near future. As of right now I have almost a dozen coin and card designs finished. Look for more in the near future. |
